Friends, Families, and Fans of Everett Little League,
We really shouldn’t have to send this reminder out, but due to recent fan behaviors and complaints from other teams, we have to.
Every player on the field is a kid. They are all here to learn their game, grow their skills, grow as a human, and enjoy doing it all. Hearing rude, unnecessary, or mean comments coming from the fans on the sidelines is not only against our Code of Conduct it is detrimental to the players giving it their all out there on the field.
THESE ARE KIDS.
THE ADULTS ARE VOLUNTEERS. Whether they are a coach or an umpire, they are all volunteers, no one is getting paid to give their time to the kids on the field.
NO ONE deserves to be belittled or harassed for being here, showing up, and mentoring players while trying to help spread the joy of baseball and softball.
Every kid on the field DESERVES to be there. REGARDLESS of their gender, family situation, race, etc. Every kid is allowed to play the sport that they are playing. If they have been drafted by a manager to a certain team, that means they deserve to be on that team and they were wanted for their skill, attitude, leadership, sportsmanship, or a combination of the above. Fans have no right to dismiss that manager’s decision by heckling players while they are at the plate, in the dugout, or on the field.
This reminder serves as a final warning. If we hear of a fan, whether parent, grandparent, family friend, or sibling, they will be ask to leave and not attend another game for the remainder of the 2025 Spring and All Stars seasons.
If you have friends and family that attend your player’s games but are not on our email list or follow us on Facebook it is your responsibility to remind them of the appropriate behaviors at Everett Little League events.
We really hope that we don’t have to take further action but our #1 focus is the kids within our League and their wellbeing and safety. We will leave you with a final image, one that may look familiar to a lot of you.
